Oraimo Freepods 4 Review
I will start with what I dislike about this Freepods 4.
The Charging Case: Before getting my hands on the product, I thought the case was a bit smaller – perhaps the images I saw decieved
me. The Charging Case is spherical and it honestly doesn’t look premium in my eyes. It also catches fingerprints pretty easily.

The App Control: Another thing I dislike about the Oraimo Freepods 4 is the introduction of the App Control (Oraimo Sound App). But wait, don’t conclude yet.
The reason I dislike the introduction of the Oraimo Sound App is the elimination of the multi touch sensor. Due to the Oraimo Sound App, you’d have to customise how you’d control the Freepods 4. If you uses Right side of the earbud to control music, you’d have to use the left side of the earbud to control the volume.
So, when you want to pause your music and you right hand is busy, you can’t use the left earbuds to pause it unless perhaps you stretches your left hand to the right side of the Freepods to do so which is quite inconvenient.
No In-ear Detection: Most of the time I uses the ANC Mode so anytime someone wants to talk to me in person, I take off one of the earbuds thinking I’ve got the Freepods Pro on. By taking off one of the Earbuds, the music pauses automatically but that isn’t the case for the Oraimo Freepods 4.
I didn’t expect this feature won’t be available in the Freepods 4 since the Freepods 3 lacks it – even the Freepods Pro has it.
No Multiple Device connection: This might be negligible feature for many but if you own two or more Bluetooth enabled devices and you can’t connect your Bluetooth headset to at least two of these devices at a go it really sucks.
Oraimo has this feature on their Necklace 3 lite which enables me to connect to my laptop and phone at the same time but I can’t fathom why they are yet to introduce this feature into any of their Freepods lineups. All their Freepods lineups lacks this feature. Huh.
So far, these are all the things I dislike about the Oraimo Freepods 4. Let’s move to the stuffs I like it the most!
The Sound: The Oraimo Freepods 4 features a 10mm dynamic bass drivers and HavyBass™ exclusive algorithm Hence the reason it’s able to deliver powerful bass, crystal-clear middle and high frequencies. The sound on the Freepods 4 is BEST compares to the more expensive one Freepods Pro which is BETTER.
The Freepods Pro sound is full of bass and suffers to deliver clearer mid/high frequencies something the Freepods 4 does it better!
The Charging Case: Yes, I know what you think now, I said I hate it, so how come I like it now? Well, Is because of it design. The spherical design of the Freepods 4 won’t like you face any charging issues in the new future.
I’ve had countless issues with my Freepods Pro case and seeing how the Freepods 4 charging case is designed gives me JOY.
Call Making: There are times people will say over the phone, “Bruh, I can’t hear Sh*t your voice doesn’t come out” and I have to disconnect the Freepods Pro and use either my wired headset or just use the phone mic. I’m yet to face such issue with the Oraimo Freepods 4 though! Until then, I like how people hears me when I talk on the phone!
The Oraimo Sound App: Similarly to the Charging Case, I like some part of the Oraimo Sound App also. The idea of changing my EQ is superb! I’m Currently rocking the ROCK premade and I’ve also created a custom one but I love the Rock Preset!
That ANC Feature: The ANC feature might not work exactly like more expensive ANC earbuds like the Samsungs and the Apples but this particular one is a gem. It just get the work done, PERIOD!
The Battery: What is an earbud with a short battery life? Trashy earbuds I guess. The Battery on this guys is excellent! I’ve never had them die on me, not a single day!
The Touch Sensor: One Problem I had the Oraimo Freepods 4 predecessor Freepods 3 is the Touch Sensor. Something I complained about in the article I wrote about the Freepods 3 in 2021.
Now, they’ve taking a step further and I love the direction which they are moving.
Type-C Charger: The Oraimo Freepods 4 Features a Type-C. They’ve obviously ditched the old charging system they used on the Oraimo Freepods 3. That’s a big step. Now I can see Oraimo is moving towards Wireless charging – Fingers crossed.

Oraimo Freepods 4 Vs Oraimo Freepods Pro
The Oraimo Freepods Pro was the best Oraimo Freepods in 2022 and it’s still reigning in some department even though the Freepods 4 has overthrown the Freepods Pro in other aspects.
For Sound of both Freepods, I think the Freepods 4 sounds better even though the Freepods Pro is more expensive than the Freepods 4.
What I genuinely miss about my Freepods Pro is the In-ear Detection feature and that’s it!
The Freepods 4 supports app, custom EQ, better sound and clearer call making thinner earbuds and also cheaper the Freepods Pro. So the Freepods 4 WINS in my Book!
Oraimo Freepods 4 Vs Oraimo Freepods 3
The Oraimo Freepods 3 might look appealing but the freepod 4 is definitely better all round, you could use the freepod 4 all through the day without knowing it’s been in your ear and the sound is the best of Oraimo earbuds currently.
It has lots of features the Oraimo Freepods 3 lacks. Both Sound, Design and everything you could think of – The Freepods 4 WINS Hands down!
Final Thought
Even if you’ve can afford the Freepods Pro which is currently selling at Ghc600, it doesn’t make any sense financially to acquire than – Unless In-ear Detection feature is paramount to you. Aside that, the Freepods 4 is better than both the Freepods Pro and Freepods 3.
The Oraimo Freepods 4 is all round best Freepods among the two.
